  • Tse to contest for GT3 Silver-Am class honours with teammate Chris Froggatt
  • Team to unleash assault in brand new McLaren 720S GT3 Evo for upcoming season

Kevin Tse 謝榮鍵 (MAC) has confirmed his entry for the full season of the 2023 Intelligent Money British GT Championship in the #93 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo. He will be competing in the Silver-Am class alongside his teammate, Chris Froggatt (GBR) with the Sky Tempesta Racing squad. Tse is gearing up with all-out preparation for the fast-approaching season opener at Oulton Park, which will host the first 2 rounds of the full 9-round calendar.

Tse made several appearances in the British GT Championship in 2022 with the Sky Tempesta Racing team and Froggatt, working well together and building a strong base as teammates for the upcoming season. He also has an overall British GT victory to his name after triumphing at Oulton Park in 2021 and has shown excellent consistency with back-to-back Pro-Am podiums at the Bathurst 12 Hour in both 2022 and 2023.

Tse has proven his ability to adapt quickly and has shown great versatility in his years of racing experience. He is aiming for the class championship as he gets set to kick off the first full-season campaign in several years. The Macanese driver is also looking to gain more GT racing experience as he goes head-to-head with stiff competition from some of the most highly regarded GT racing drivers on the planet.

The Sky Tempesta Racing team has confirmed to be racing in the brand-new McLaren 720S GT3 Evo for its 2023 British GT Championship pursuits in a technical partnership with Garage 59. The British team made its first appearance in the McLaren at the 2022 Gulf 12 Hours, where Tse and Frogatt also raced with Edward Cheever III and Jonathan Hui to score a sensational P3 in the Pro-Am class. The team is confident in the pace shown by the new car and thrilled to welcome the expertise imparted by Garage 59, who has raced with the 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 McLaren at events across the globe for several years.

The #93 Sky Tempesta Racing McLaren 720S GT3 Evo will don the same iconic Sky logo with the pink and blue design elements that is instantly recognisable on track. The team welcomes Contempo Concept as a partner, which is a Hong Kong-based automotive trading company, selling premium and exquisite automobiles with the highest pedigree and providing car detailing and audio services. This will see the Contempo Concept logo also featured on the new McLaren for the entire season.

Tse is currently training intensely for his first full British GT Championship – including test days in the UK to understand the new machinery and spending lots of time on the simulator to get to grips with the new tracks. He is confident and hopes to deliver a powerful performance over the course of the season with Froggatt. The pair will undertake their first race weekend of this year’s Intelligent Money British GT Championship campaign from the 8th to the 10th of April.

“I am excited to do a full season in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship and delighted to be driving with Sky Tempesta. I have known Chris for many years. We worked well last year with some success, so we will definitely be looking for multiple podiums this year. Overall, I am thrilled to be able to join the team for the whole season and looking forward to getting on track.”

Chris Froggatt | Driver, #93 Sky Tempesta Racing McLaren 720S GT3 Evo

“We’re excited to announce our participation in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship and Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup in the new McLaren. Taking on a championship in a new car is always challenging. However, the new McLaren feels great to drive on the track, and we’re thrilled to have the expertise of Garage 59 supporting us for both championships in the new car. Our team has been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season, and we’re looking forward to showing our determination for success this year.”
