Jonathan Hui (HKG) completed yet another challenging but successful weekend at Round 5 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS taking back-to-back P3 finishes in the Bronze Cup. It was an uphill battle for the Hong Kong driver having never been to the highly technical Hockenheimring before, however he managed to make the most of it and score valuable points to extend his lead in the overall Bronze Cup Standings. Hui and his teammate Eddie Cheever III (ITA) extracted the most out of the #93 Sky Tempesta Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 and are looking to build upon the positives at Nurburgring for Round 6 of the European championship this weekend.

Cheever struggled to put together a strong lap in the first part of qualifying, only managing P7 in the Bronze class. However, the Italian driver made up for it at the race start by staying out of trouble and putting together a solid first stint. By the time Hui got in the car, he was already up to class P4 and drove consistently quick lap times, eventually taking the chequered flag in P3.

Qualifying 2 was much better for the Sky Tempesta Racing team, as Hui put in a great lap and secured himself a Bronze class P2 start for the second race. Hui faced an extremely chaotic start and was lucky to avoid any contact, however he dropped 3 positions and was immediately on the back foot. The Hong Kong driver battled hard and at one stage fell to P8, before regaining positions handing over the car in P5 to his teammate. Cheever took the reigns of the #93 Ferrari and clocked in some fast laps on fresh tires. He eventually moved up into P4 and finally P3 once again after penalties were applied for another competitor.

It was an amazing weekend for Hui and the team, having scored 19 points from both races towards the Bronze Cup. The driver pair extended their lead at the top of the Driver Standings and sit 20 points clear in the overall Bronze Cup Championship. The entire crew is looking to the upcoming round this weekend, which is set to be a thrilling endurance race at the world famous Nurburgring.
